We are Michael & Laura! Michael is a self proclaimed Mr. Fix-it, always with a tool in his hand... Think Tim the Toolman Taylor. You can find him in the kitchen brewing beer, or underneath a car fixing something he probably should have a professional handle.
Meanwhile, Laura is working hard on a new diy project, at the same time as baking something delicious in the oven. She loves relaxing on the couch with Tusker right next to her, a cozy blanket, and a well-designed mug, but only after taking on a new business goal to help our clients’ experience.
On wedding days, if Michael isn’t behind the camera, he’s helping with some ceremony setup, or looking awkward, trying to hold in his crazy dance moves at the reception. Laura on the other hand would be fluffing wedding dresses on the side of a building, or jumping into a photo booth with our clients.
We can’t wait to meet you and get to know you better!

Michael got his degree in Photography from VCU and when he was asked to shoot a friend's wedding in 2011, I (Laura) begged him to tag along. We've been shooting weddings together ever since. In 2012 we got married here in Richmond, spent most our budget on our photographer, and DIYed the rest. We adopted our sweet pit-mix at Hardywood Brewery after coming back from volunteering in Kenya, so we named him Tusker, after Kenyan's most popular beer. We took on a huge house renovation in 2018 and fell in love with our little fixer upper. And in late 2019 we became parents and still have no idea what we're doing.. but boy is he cute.

Your first decision as an engaged couple is to set priorities for your wedding planning. You have to decide what you value most. Is it the dress? The food? The venue? When we got married, we choose to prioritize what would last.
After the big day is over, you will leave your reception with a spouse & your pictures.. that’s it!
All of that planning and preparation is over in a matter of hours! So if you’re choosing to invest in high quality photography, those images deserve an elegant home after the wedding day.

What makes us different is that we strive to create an experience where you feel loved, well served, and taken care of every step of the way. We want to show up on the wedding day feeling like good friends, not just vendors. We want you to feel comfortable and have fun throughout our entire time together.

Images + Delivery
We typically deliver about 100 images an hour. There are several things that factor into this, but we take being your eyes on the wedding day seriously and so we deliver large galleries.
You'll see a sneak peek within 24 hours, your blog post will be up in 2 weeks, and you'll receive your full gallery within a month.

Ohh.. we're legit
We've been shooting weddings since 2011. We are a licensed business with liability insurance.
You'll receive a client portal with your invoice, contract, quotes, and details all stored easily and securely in one place. Contracts can be signed digitally and payments can be made online.
We duplicate all images we shoot so they are as protected as possible. After your session images are kept both in the cloud and locally stored.

There's no right or wrong question. We'd love to set up a time to chat and answer all your questions. Feel free to ask us as many as you can come up with.. we want you to feel totally comfortable.

If you're liking what you're seeing, we'd love to be able to talk with you more about your wedding day.
Shoot us an email and we can set up a time to talk. Let us know if you prefer a phone call, video chat, or to meet in person. We are up for whatever makes you most comfortable!

After our chat, we will send over a quote and contract. Take your time to select what works best for you and look over our contract. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
We will be official when we've both signed the contract and have received a 50% retainer.
A client portal will be sent to you so all your information is stored in one convenient place.
- Make it Official -
We will send over some information to help plan your engagement session. We typically schedule these 6-9 months before the wedding date.
We'll help you pick the perfect location, outfit choice, and answer any questions you have.
The engagement session is a fun time for us to get to know you better and for you to get comfortable in front of the camera.

We will check in with you throughout your planning process and try to provide you with helpful resources to make it as simple and fun as possible.
We will send out questionnaires to help guide you the best we can. This will include information on your timeline, family formals, important wedding day details, etc.

Before the wedding day we will set up a quick video chat with you to review your timeline and questionnaire.
We want to be able to answer any questions you may have and make sure we are all ready to go for your wedding day!

After giving y'all a huge huge and squealing from excitement that the wedding day is finally here, we will start by shooting details.
Laura will stay with the bride, and Michael will head to the groom. We'll follow the timeline we set up and act as your eyes throughout the wedding day.

We will post a sneak peek within 24 hours of your wedding day, the blog post within 2 weeks, and deliver your full online gallery within a month.
After you receive your gallery, we will get started on designing your album. Laura will send over an initial proof and you can make changes to include your favorite images. Once it's approve, we will get it mailed directly to you.
